New at Ponseti Clinic: A multidisciplinary outpatient service for children with cerebral palsy and other congenital conditions
31. May 2026
At Ponseti Clinic, we are long-term looking for new ways to offer our patients the most comprehensive and effective care. That is why we are very happy to have established cooperation with Mr. Michal Musil, prosthetist and CEO of Pohlig Austria, which is one of the leading European experts in the field of orthotics, prosthetics and individual compensatory aids.
Together, we are launching a new concept Multidisciplinary ambulance for children with cerebral palsy (CP) and other congenital diagnoses, the aim of which is to help children whose treatment is not progressing in the expected direction or whose motor functions are deteriorating.
When conventional therapy is not enough
Every child is unique and the next step in treatment is not always obvious. This is precisely why this specialized ambulance was created, which enables a joint assessment of the child's health condition by several experts at the same time.
During one consultation, the child will be examined:
- orthopaedic specialist,
- physiotherapist,
- prosthetist.
A team of experts will jointly evaluate the child's current condition, the course of treatment so far and propose the next procedure leading to the best possible functional result.
What is the purpose of the consultation?
The consultation is intended primarily for children:
- with cerebral palsy (CP),
- with congenital movement defects,
- with neurological or orthopaedic diagnoses affecting the musculoskeletal system,
- in which the results of therapy have stagnated or worsened.
Together we are looking for answers to the questions:
- Is the current treatment set optimally?
- Are existing braces and aids still suitable?
- Are there other physiotherapy or prosthetic options?
- Is an operative solution really necessary?
- Can improvement be achieved in a conservative way?
