Continuing our education: An international course in Warsaw

A specialized course on the treatment of Pes Equinovas Congenitus (golf legs) using the Ponseti method was held in Warsaw at the Paley European Institute on 21/06/2024, led by renowned experts Dr. Matthew Dobbs and Dr. Mitzi Williams.

Dr. Matthew Dobbs, a well-known orthopaedic surgeon from the United States, with many years of experience in the treatment of children's foot deformities, and his colleague, Dr. Mitzi Williams, pediatric orthopaedic specialist, promoting the original method of Dr. Ignace Ponseti. Both of these renowned experts rank among the world's elite in the professional community with regard to the treatment of Equinovarus through the Ponseti method. Dr. Matthew Dobbs has already presented the Ponseti method in more than 50 countries around the world. In addition to the Ponseti method, the lecturers introduced the participants to the method of treating the opposite deformity of the leg, the so-called vertical talus, which was introduced by Dr. Dobbs (Dobbs method for vertical talus).

This course was also attended by our female doctors, the head doctor of Ponseti Clinic, MUDr. Mgr. Monika Frydrychová Ph.D. and orthopaedic specialist Ponseti Clinic MUDr. Michaela Foltýnová Kassaiová.

The participants got the opportunity to practice the application of the Ponseti method and also get feedback from experienced lecturers on the treatment of their patients.

The course provided the latest information and procedures in the field of Equinovarus treatment, which can significantly improve treatment outcomes.
