New combined therapy: Orthopaedic and physiotherapy consultations at Ponseti Clinic
1. December 2025
At Ponseti Clinic, we have long-term based care on the expertise, experience and mutual cooperation of individual professions. We believe that the patient should be in a clearly guided, well-thought-out and safe process that they can trust from the first moment.
That is why we are constantly developing forms of care that bring patients even greater certainty, clarity and comfort — and one of them is our newly introduced ortho-physio consultation.
Ortho-physioconsultation – a meeting that brings together the perspective of an orthopaedic specialist and a physiotherapist in one 60-minute visit, is primarily intended for patients with PEC (Pes Equinovarus Congenitus), but it can also be used for other difficulties associated with walking – for example, milder forms of DMO, post-traumatic conditions or painful flat feet.
Although it is a form of care in which two specialties work together at the same time, we deliberately call it "consultation", not therapy. Its main goal is understanding – a professional, comprehensible and comprehensive explanation of the condition of the legs, walking and overall motor skills. It is only on the basis of this analysis that a therapy plan is created, which the patient can then fulfill within the framework of orthopaedics, physiotherapy or both of these fields.
Ortho-physio consultation brings patients:
-
common, well-coordinated expert opinion,
-
clear interpretation of the finding and interrelationships,
-
specific recommendations for further progress from the point of view of both specializations,
-
the certainty that their care has a precise direction and logic from the beginning.
Separate orthopaedic and physiotherapy examinations continue to provide full-fledged and top-quality care with us. Ortho-physio consultation, however, offers a superstructure moment when both expertises meet at the same time and create a common basis for further treatment.
The consultation can be used in two variants:
-
Baby – for children under 5 years old
-
Active – for older children, teenagers and adults
